This project’s strategic location earns it prestigious recognition as it is located in the Holy Valley an Islamic Landmark, the land plot is engulfed by North and South mountains with a total plot area of 1,150,000m2. The project aims to expanding the holy ceremonial areas in to expand residential facilities for pilgrims, expand and move governmental administrative buildings away from the ceremonial area.
Phase 1 encompasses 78 buildings now fully functional and handed-over to the concerned authorities. The project also includes public amenities such as 8 underground water tanks and 2 drinking water tanks with a capacity of 36,000m3 that can last up to 15 days, warehouses, 5 mosques, well-equipped clinics, an airstrip and a power-generating station. The area comprises 3,200 residential and office units with a capacity of 10,000 employees.
EMDAD’s scope of work consisted of design and site supervision including architecture, structure, MEP and electromechanical networks such as potable water, fire-fighting, water waste-water, electrical and communication networks, infrastructure, roads and landscape.
